Orpington Cricket Club is delighted to announce that our new scoreboard on the bottom plateau has been installed!
As many of you will know, our previous scoreboard had been in place since the 1990s. Once state of the art, our loyal friend announced its well earned retirement at the end of last season.
The funding for the new scoreboard has come entirely from individual donations from the Orpington Cricket Club Family. Thank you very much to each and every one of you that contributed, without your support this simply wouldn't have been possible.
Once current restrictions have been lifted sufficiently to allow us to do it justice in traditional OCC style, we intend to hold a formal scoreboard opening ceremony, including unveiling a commemorative plaque detailing a list of all donors. We will of course provide future updates on this once we know more.
We thought that you would like to see some before, during and after pictures of the installation, as taken by our resident photographer David 'Daniella Langford' Bailey.
Finally, our thanks go to Electronic Scoreboards Ltd (scoreboard) and P&I Protections (security shutter) for their professionalism and efficient installation, particularly given that in true cricket season style, it rained all day whilst they were on site!
